Saxophonist and flutist David “Fathead” Newman played with everyone from Ray Charles to Queen Latifah, Aretha Franklin to Herbie Mann. I began to work on a documentary about him in 2007 but, sadly, he passed (last year), though there are still plans to bring it to completion.  Below is an excerpt from the work in progress
